This beautiful river has earned its fame by delighting paddlers who come from near and far to kayak or canoe this iconic waterway. Groups of 10 or more people may experience this trip, winding their way down river through the scenic Shenandoah Valley, nestled between the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains of Almost Heaven, West Virginia. Kayaking or canoeing this scenic and mellow river includes navigating small Class I-II rapids, a great combination of relaxation and fun!
Blue heron, osprey, and the return of the bald eagles offer great bird watching opportunities. Bring your fishing pole or enjoy floating and picnicking along the way. Canoeists and kayakers start at the Route 7 bridge near Berryville, Virginia or Meyerstown, West Virginia. The Class I-II paddle is 14 or 7 miles to Moulton Park, West Virginia.
