Brunswick Family Campground has full service RV camping sites in Brunswick, Maryland only 15 minutes from popular Harpers Ferry, WV.
RV Camping on the Potomac River and C&O Canal
Brunswick Family Campground and RV Park is located on a secluded stretch of land between the Potomac River and the C&O Canal National Historical Park in Frederick County, Maryland – just 15 minutes from Harpers Ferry, WV. The Canal’s scenic towpath winds past the Brunswick Campground and provides the only road access to this riverfront camping area. So sit back, and enjoy the scenic views of Short Hill Mountain, the Potomac River, great blue herons and the occasional eagle that passes by. Field and wooded RV camp sites are available.
Our campground closed for the 2024 on November 10th. We will reopen on March 28th, 2025. For long term inquiries, please fill out the monthly rental inquiry which is the green button (to your right on desktop, scroll down on mobile).

Kids and adults alike will enjoy visiting Antietam Battlefield National Park, Harpers Ferry National Park and hiking along sections of the famous Appalachian Trail. Campground Trains
Brunswick is a railroad town, and offers the romance and nostalgia that trains evoke. For those sensitive to noise and sleeping with windows open, you may want to bring earplugs for sleeping. The campground is located near the train tracks that border the C&O Canal and some trains run at night and do change cars at the local station.

Cancellation & Payment Policy.
- Without Trip Insurance: Individuals (1-9 people): No money refunds are given. However, with at least 48 hours notice, you may reschedule your trip to a later date or receive a credit for the amount that you paid with no penalty.
- Without Trip Insurance: Groups of ten or more: No refund with less than three weeks notice for the entire group cancellation. With three weeks notice, River & Trail keeps 25% for administrative costs. Numbers may be fine tuned without penalty up until seven days prior to the trip.
- With Trip Insurance: Individuals (1-9 people): Cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your trip for any reason and receive a full refund for your trip. Cancellations less than 48 hours will receive a credit with a minimum of 1 hour notice before the trip. The cost of the insurance is non refundable.
- With Trip Insurance: Groups of ten or more: Cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your trip for any reason and receive a refund of your trip. Cancellations with less than 48 hours will receive a credit with a minimum 3 hour notice prior to the trip. The cost of the insurance is non refundable.
- A credit card must be on file in the case any damage occur to the cabins during your stay.
No Smoking policy
- The cabins are smoke free.
Pet Policy
- Pets: leashed at all times, not left unattended at your site, clean up after your pet and place waste in the dumpster
Fishing Policy
- People 16 & older must have Maryland fishing licenses to fish in the Potomac. Licenses can be bought at Brunswick Hardware on Potomac Street in Brunswick, MD.

Alcohol Policy
- Alcohol is not permitted anywhere in the campground except within one’s cabin, RV, trailer, or tent. Those who violate this policy will be asked to leave with no refund.
Other Policies
- No tents or RVs may be added to the cabin site.
- Outside Firewood is NOT permitted. Firewood is for sale or you can gather wood & brush from the nearby woods.
- Wristbands are given to be worn by all guests at all times.
- We strongly recommend that children wear PFDs while playing in the river
- Metal detecting is not permitted
- Firearms & Fireworks are prohibited City of Brunswick Ordinance
- A $10 cleaning fee will be charged for trash left at campsites or in the fire pit.
- Golf carts are not permitted.

Bike Rentals
Enjoy an easy bike ride on the C&O Canal with our beach cruiser style bikes. Harpers Ferry is only 6 miles one way! Ask us for a bike lock to lock up your bike and walk over the pedestrian bridge to explore the National Park and treat yourself to lunch and ice cream.
Canoe & Kayak Rentals
Launch from the campground on a 2 hour mellow and beautiful section of the Potomac River where great blue herons and eagles fly. Or paddle to the campground on a Saturday Guided Sunset Paddle which features light rapids!
Campground Tube Rentals
Rent a tube and walk up river 3/4 mile and enjoy a lazy float back to the campground. Go as many times as you want. On Fri & Sat, enjoy our 3 hr Potomac Mellow Tubing Deluxe trip leaving right from the Campground.
Harpers Ferry Rafting & Tubing
The most fun you can have is on the river! White water rafting trips depart daily on the Shenandoah & Potomac Rivers. Tubing options include mellow Shenandoah River & Potomac River trips and Harpers Ferry white water tubing trips.
