Tour Vineyards in West Virginia and Virginia
We have teamed up with Tarara Winery to offer our customers a unique experience on a private paddle and wine tour. Our guides will meet you at the winery and guide you on a 4.5 to 7 mile canoe paddle (kayaks can also be used) on the Potomac or Shenandoah River. This gentle stretch is rich in natural beauty and is perfect for novice and intermediates. You will finish back at the winery where you will experience award winning wines in the privacy of the outdoor pavilion. Linen tablecloths and their Reserve Wine glass set the stage for comprehensive wine education. You will sample several premium wines, then choose your wine of choice from your samples for a full glass of wine. Cheese and crackers are also served with the wine. You will also have a 15 to 20 min. tour of the wine making cave. A Tarara staff member will walk with you in the cave to the end of the ramp. The paddle and Wine Tour is an exquisite event. It is great for corporate groups, couples, wine connoisseurs, and anyone who can appreciate the love of river and wine.

This event can be scheduled anytime for groups of 20 or more. Based on availability. Certain dates are already scheduled for this event and are listed below, however call for updates and newly scheduled dates;

Suggested ages: 16 and up (No wine will be served to anyone under 21)

RIVER & TRAIL RECOMMENDS that you pack a lunch and at least 32 ounces of water in a plastic bag or watertight container to eat along the river.  Cell phones and other personal belongings should not be taken on the boats. There is always a possibility that you may get wet. We are not responsible for any cell phones, watches, wallets or other personal belongings that get wet and damaged.

ITINERARY:

• Meet our guides at Tarara Winery's parking lot at 10:30 am.  Follow our signs upon entering Tarara.  Park on the grass next to the blacktop parking lot.
• Depart for canoe/kayak paddle at 11:00 am.
• Return back to the winery for wine tasting and tour at approx. 3:00 pm.
• Tour ends at 5:00 pm.
  Starting time can be altered for private groups.

PADDLE, WINE & CONCERT SERIES

The Sounds of Summer Concert Series boasts Saturday evenings full of music performed by legendary musicians, award-winning wine and good food…all under the stars. Tucked in the woods on Tarara’s 475 acres, the concert stage hangs (suspended) next to Shadow Lake and creates the perfect venue for summer blues, 80s, 90s and contemporary pop hits. Join River & Trail for a guided leisurely paddle along the Potomac River and ending at Tarara just before the concert begins. (This is not a private wine tasting event) You will have the opportunity to sample wines and purchase foods. Bring a blanket and lie under the stars as you enjoy the featured bands.

Price: $85 (flat rate) Adults and Kids

• 5:30 - 6:00pm Optional Self-guided winery tour
• 6:30-9:30pm Live Concert  & 5 Wine Tasting

Catered Deli items & Desserts and Tarara's wine available for purchase
