in Crownsville, MD. Visit our rock climbing wall and enjoy all the rides and events at the fair.

Saturday & Sunday September 20 & 21, 2008
Bluemont Festival Bluemont VA 10am-5pm. Join us and our rock wall at this hometown festival in Bluemont Virginia. There will be crafters, food vendors, games, and much more. Come visit this quaint town and spend some time in the country.

Celebrate the First Weekend of Autumn
Join us for a Civil War Bike Tour along the C&O Canal near Harpers Ferry, WV. Your interpretive guide will supply you with historical facts about the Civil War and its effects on the local area. The scenery along this gentle terrain, tree-lined path is fantastic, and there is ample room for cruising while good riverside picnic spots abound. Bring bottled water and a snack for the ride. Then at the end of the trip we will enjoy sandwiches, chips, cold drinks and a tasty dessert at Beans in the Belfry located just 2 blocks from the end of the bike tour. http://www.beansinthebelfry.com/ The price per person is $69 and includes the meal at the end.

Antietam Creek Kayak & Brunch

Voted one of the top 60 paddling streams in North America by Canoe & Kayak Magazine editors, Antietam Creek is the perfect venue for recreational kayaking. A scenic stream graced with stone arch bridges, Antietam offers wildlife-sightings of blue heron, ducks, turtles, and beaver. Beyond its natural beauty, you will float under Burnside Bridge on Antietam Battlefield, one of the most famous sites in Civil War History. Our qualified instructor will give historical interpretation at the site, as well as help you navigate the riffles and ledges of this beginner whitewater stretch.

This annual sale always begins the first Saturday in October at 9am. All sales are from our retail shop. We sell our used canoes and kayaks along with paddles, lifevests and accessories. Don't miss this sale. You will save lots of money used boats and clearance boats as well as retail items that are on clearance.

Frederick IN THE STREETS 9am-9pm. Come to Frederick's IN THE STREETS and join us in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the biggest and best block party. Come and Climb our rock wall and enjoy other entertainment such as a concert on the Carroll Creek Linear Park will kick festivities off on Friday night with music, food and the chance to give back to the Frederick community by supporting a local charity. There are numerous blocks of themed entertainment and activities including Kid’s Block, Sports Block, International Block and much more!

Raft n Ropes - A special weekend of fun hosted by River & Trail Outfitters and Upward Enterprises. Come join us for a day of rafting followed by a day on the Ropes Challenge Course while enjoying the beauty of autumn. Take in the sites of historic Harpers Ferry, WV and Frederick, MD while you're here. We would be happy to recommend local lodging.

Brunswick Railroad Days 9:30am-6pm. Visit historic Brunswick and learn about the trains, this event is great for the whole family. There will be crafters, live bands, food vendors, games, kiddy rides, Pony rides, shopping, and of course model train shows. Also take a 45 minute train ride. Make time to visit our Climbing Wall as you enjoy the festivities that Brunswick has to offer.

Spook-tacular Hike
Ever heard about the movie "The Blair Witch Project"? The movie was filmed here in the mountain area of Gapland near Burkittsville, MD just 7 miles from us. Come with us on this evening hike as we take you on a tour of the town of Burkittsville and through the wooded sections of the mountain where the Blair Witch is said to lurk. Noises and sightings will make your skin crawl. Is it the witch or could it be the ghosts of the Confederate soldiers from the Civil War whose souls are not at rest. Listen to your guide tell tales of the ghosts and things they have been seen doing. Your hike will end at the Maple Tree Campground with a campfire. Our staff will serve you Sandwiches, Chips, hot chocolate and of course all the fixings for make your own s'mores. Everyone is encouraged to bring along ghost stories to share with all around the campfire. Price per person: $44.00

Columbus Day Weekend—Fall Foliage
Enjoy the beauty of Fall as the colors of the trees and mountains turn to vibrant oranges, reds and yellows. Take in the respite of cooler temperatures and relax while paddling down river in a canoe or kayak where you are up close with the fall foliage and enjoy the highlights of seeing deer, herons and other birds and wildlife along the river banks. Or opt to take in all this beauty on land from the C&O as you bike along side the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. For the Columbus Day weekend special we are offering Canoe and tandem kayak rentals at $58 all taxes and fees included and Solo Kayak rentals at $45 all taxes and fees included. Bike rentals are $20 taxes and fees included for half or full day.

End of Season Rafting
Take this opportunity before the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season begins by joining us for one last trip down the river on our Shenandoah Raft trip. $10 off per person includes a picnic lunch and hot chocolate at the end of the trip.
